LEARN HOW TO PLAY PIANO WITH A PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN
I’ve been a professional musician most of my life. I’ve recorded
piano tracks for 100’s of songs for recording artists, and
performed piano for concerts and music venues throughout the
USA and Europe.

MY EXPERIENCE TAKING PIANO LESSONS
I spent my teen years taking piano lessons, beginning when I was
13 yrs old until I was 17. My lessons felt regimented and
unfulfilling. Looking back on that experience, I realized that I
wanted to evolve into a musician and piano player who felt a
connection with the music I was assigned to.
It was when I joined my first band that I realized my piano
lessons did not teach me how to become a musician.
At the beginning of the first band rehearsal, the lead singer asked
me to play a C chord. I didn’t know how to play a C chord!
It was an embarrassing moment. All those years of piano lessons
and I was never taught chords.
It was when I first began playing in bands that I really learned
how to play piano. The musicians I performed with taught me
how to play the chords of the songs on our song list.
Learning the chords of a song from these musicians were the
piano lessons I had always needed. And over the years I have
played piano for major recording artists, for countless recording
sessions, for television shows and huge concerts.

MY PIANO LESSONS WORK!
First of all, my piano lessons are very simple.
You will learn how to identify every note on the keyboard. It’s
really easy. There are only 7 white keys (notes) on a piano, and
only 5 black keys (notes) on a piano. Every octave on a keyboard
is just a repeat of the same 7 white notes and 5 black notes. The
same 12 notes in every octave. Once you learn how to identifying
the notes on the keyboard, the next step in teaching you how to
play chords. One of my students had a keyboard but she didn’t
know how to play it. Each week we would work on a song, in her case it was “Let it Be” by the Beatles. Within 4 lessons she was able to play the entire song. She was on her way to being a musician!
